We Get Results
Students who participate in the Reading Futures program have consistently exceeded expected growth on standardized reading measures, such as iReady and NWEA MAP.
In one year, 5th grade students in a Tier 3 MTSS model grew nearly 2 grade levels on iReady. The students achieved 200% of iReady’s “expected growth.”
Two middle schools with mid-year starts grew between four and five Normal Curve Equivalent (NCEs) points on the STAR assessment.
In a summer implementation, Reading Futures students “caught up” to their peers’ full-year growth on iReady Composite from Spring to Fall.
Muncie Community Schools 2024-2025
We partnered with Muncie Community Schools (Indiana) to serve students in grades 2-5 across three elementary schools as part of a School Improvement Grant initiative. This work was supported by Accelerate. We served more than 90 students as part of this project.
Dr. Jerrell Cassady, Professor of Educational Psychology at Ball State University, conducted the first year of a multi-year evaluation of Reading Futures in Muncie, focused on students in grades 2-3. We randomized students at the student level, comparing results between an experimental condition (Reading Futures) and a control. Reading Futures produced an effect size of 0.26 on DIBELS composite, with a similar gain on iReady Composite.
